AN EVENING IN PARIS WITH MAISON TAKARAH

Shot on film.

A song for you to teleport into these memories with me: La Femme Ressort - La Femme

Last September, Nisrine (owner of Maison Takarah), kindly welcomed me into her atelier in Paris, and we spent the evening alternating between shooting and changing looks with Bolotina Tetyana, our model. It was so much fun. This experience felt like a nod to my youth – an evening of dress-up and impromptu photoshoots, reminiscent of the carefree days spent with childhood friends.

The energy we exchanged was genuine and palpable. Collaborating with Nisrine and Bolotina felt like discovering a new song to fixate on—everything just clicked. We indulged in cigarettes and good conversation; this entire experience felt more like a celebration of our shared passions and artistic journeys than a photoshoot. It was like an ode to girlhood.

Maison Takarah’s designs are effortlessly cool, contemporary & romantic. It was refreshing and such an honour to photograph bridal designs that surpass the norm. I love their vision and intention that’s put into each stitch— their looks are the definition of timeless wedding fashion.

On my walk back to my hotel, I was reminded on why I love to travel. There's a unique depth to the connections forged with the people you meet, maybe intensified by the awareness that our paths may not cross again for a significant period, if at all. I don’t know, there's a strange beauty in that transience.

I’m so thankful to have these memories to look back on and I’m so grateful to have collaborated with two amazing and talented artists.

Overall, this will continue to live in my head, rent free, for a very long time.

Merci Nisrine & Bolotina, vous ĂȘtes des anges. Xx.
